Dual Media and Side Stream Filters
IEC carries out Design, Detailed Engineering, Fabrication, Supply, Erection, Testing and Commissioning of the Dual Media and Side Stream Filters for Cooling Tower Applications and Drinking Water filtrations.
Water Flow Velocities up to 18 m3/hr/sqm are considered for Design of dual media filters and flow velocity up to 9 m3/hr/sqm are considered for Side stream filters.
The filters are designed in both Cylindrical-Vertical configuration and Cylindrical-Horizontal configuration. The Design pressures are selected based on the operating parameters. The Flow capacities of filters up to 250 m 3/hr are handled in single stream and higher capacities can be custom built. The design turbidity inputs are considered at 50 ppm and design output limits for the filters will be less than 5 ppm. The Pressure vessel is designed as per ASME (Sec 8) requirements.
The Filtration system basically consists of the following major parts: 1. Water Inlet Distribution arrangement 2. Filter Media 3. Bottom Water Collection system 4. Filter Body 5. Frontal Piping with valves 6. Pressure Relief Device 7. Back Wash arrangement 8. Air scouring system with air compressor and piping 9. Vent line 10. Drain line 11. V Notch Flow Channel Measuring Device 12. Instruments depending upon the Customer requirements such as Flow Meters, Flow Transmitters, Pressure Gauges, Switches, Transmitters etc. The Vessels are fabricated in house with stringent Quality control. Generally Standard Quality Plan will be adopted in the manufacturing process, which normally meets all customer requirements. However, Customer specific approved Quality Plan can also be adopted on case to case basis.
PAINTING: The vessels are externally and internally sand blasted after completion of inspection formalities. Two coats of Epoxy primer is given externally in factory and two coats of Coal tar Epoxy is given over the inner water contact surfaces of the vessel. At site, Post installation, final two coats of Epoxy finish paints are given over the external surfaces of the vessel.
